Concussion Management

A concussion can be caused by several biomechanical means including a strong hit to the face, neck, head or body.

The clinical presentation of a concussion may vary, some of the symptoms include:

  • Significant balance changes.

  • Sleep disturbances.

  • Headache.

  • Dizziness.

  • Ringing in the ears.

  • Memory loss, nausea.

  • Light sensitivity.

  • Drowsiness.

  • Behavioural changes. 

 

It is important to note that symptoms can appear instantly at the time of the incident, or some minutes or hours after the event.

The recovery of a concussion is mainly led by physical and cognitive rest. Our therapists will help to assess, treat and rehabilitate our patients with concussion symptoms to safely return to perform their activities through a proper concussion protocol.
